The project, a collaborative endeavor between prime-contractor VIP, government software and services provider Fast Enterprises (FAST), and Washington DOL, provides the state agency with a fully integrated and modern web-based system based on FAST’s GenTax® integrated tax software.

In the last five years, the Motor Vehicle Division has come a long way in improving customer service and our wait times.

In fact, some wait times are down by as much as 85 percent — with many customers around the state having to wait just under 10 minutes to receive help.

It wasn’t always like this. As many New Mexicans can attest to, taking a trip to the MVD used to be one of the most unpleasant — yet necessary — chores. Six years ago, that could mean waiting more than an hour to get help — not counting how long it would take to complete a transaction.

But things have changed.

BOSTON >> The ability of Massachusetts residents to access certain federal buildings and airplane departure gates in future years could depend on the success of a $62.2 million contract with a Colorado company hired to revamp the state’s three-decade-old driver’s license software system.

After the Massachusetts Department of Transportation authorized the state to move forward with Fast Enterprises on Thursday, Transportation Secretary Stephanie Pollack said the new software package could support the state’s plans for licenses that comply with the federal REAL ID law.
