The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) has partnered with Fast Enterprises, LLC to take Indiana to the next level in state tax administration. This partnership will provide Indiana with an entirely new, state-of-the-art technology system for DOR’s customers to file tax returns, make payments, view and manage their business and individual tax accounts.

Fast Enterprises (FAST), a leader in IT software solutions for government agencies, has recently been named the recipient of three awards for workplace excellence. Great Place to Work includes FAST on its lists of Best Workplaces in Technology and Best Workplaces for Diversity and, for the sixth year in a row, FAST has made Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work.

In a few years, the DRA commissioner and her colleagues might be joined by a new ghost when the department’s ancient computer system is finally put to rest, thanks to a $30 million project that will propel New Hampshire’s tax collection system into the 21st century. On Oct. 31, Gov. Chris Sununu and the Executive Council approved a $29,550,000 contract with Fast Enterprises, a Colorado-based company that has set up its GenTax revenue information management systems in more than two dozen states, including Vermont and Massachusetts. While the state’s existing system houses New Hampshire’s three major tax types — business taxes, interest and dividends, and meals and rooms and vehicle rentals — the state’s other taxes are scattered elsewhere.

The New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration (NHDRA) has entered a contract with Fast Enterprises to modernize all aspects of the tax collection and payment process by establishing a new Revenue Information Management System (RIMS). RIMS will house and consolidate taxpayer data for an all-inclusive view of information and processes with direct online accessibility for taxpayers, practitioners and DRA staff.

Eleven exemplary initiatives were chosen as recipients for the National Association of State Chief Information Officers’ (NASCIO) 2018 Recognition Awards for outstanding achievement in information technology in state government.

Recipients were announced this evening during the NASCIO Annual Conference in San Diego. This marks the 30th consecutive year NASCIO has honored outstanding information technology achievements in the public sector through the awards program. Recipients were selected by the NASCIO Awards Committee from a field of more than 100 nominees.

The Oregon Department of Revenue Core Systems Replacement touched nearly every corner of the organization, provides a modern state-of-the-art system, and transformed organizational operations by creating new and more efficient workflows and business processes. This four-and-a-half-year project replaced 87 of the DOR’s core legacy tax systems with GenTax, a commercial off-the-shelf tax administration software from Fast Enterprises. This project was completed on time and under budget.
